Friendship & Opportunities to Learn

Orenco Church's women's ministry is for all ages and provides opportunities to connect and fellowship with one another, as well as grow in our knowledge and love for God. Our desire is for the women at Orenco to come together in friendship and grow together in their life with Christ through encouragement, fellowship, and support. Our activities and gatherings vary year by year, but friendship in Christ is always at their center.


All women are invited to join our Sunday morning class at 8:45 am, either in person or on Zoom.  We select a study specifically for women and walk through it together each week, discussing its application to our daily lives. Our class is both talkative and comfortable, and everyone is welcome!  See the information on the Teaching page of this website to learn about our current study.  

Fellowship & Mission

For monthly fellowship, we offer a card making class one Saturday morning each month.  Join us at the church for this casual time of creativity and conversation.  No prior experience or craft making talent is needed, we are happy to help you and have sample cards for ideas or you can make up your own.  All the supplies are provided, a $15 donation is appreciated but not required to help with the teacher's expenses.  


Many women participate in our Secret Prayer Partner ministry, supporting one another all year with anonymous gifts and notes, and, most importantly, in their daily prayers. These women sign up to participate in January, and then discover who has been praying for them at the year’s end with a special party. 

Our mission partnerships include providing knitted and crocheted shawls and lap blankets to local hospice chaplains and those in the hospital or feeling under the weather.  These "prayer shawls" are handmade by the women in our congregation with love, intended to provide warmth and brighten someone's day.
